“I knew they had Nawaz waiting to bowl, and even though we needed 7, even if we needed 15, I would have liked my chances. I feel like the bowler is under a lot more pressure than me in the final. He only needed a six in that final. I try to keep things simple,” Pandya said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

On the ball, Pandya used his short ball to good effect and also grabbed an extra rebound on a two-rhythm shot to break Pakistan’s midway innings with his 3-25 spell, taking out Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Khushdil Shah in overs 11-15.

“It’s important to assess the situation and use your weapons. For me short bowling has been my forte, particularly long hard bowling. But you have to use it wisely. It’s all about using it well and asking the right questions to get hitters engaged.” . a mistake,” added Pandya.

Jadeja, who played a huge role with the bat alongside Pandya in winning the match for India, praised how the all-rounder was able to end the chase. “We wanted to play to the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away.”

“I could have finished the game — left-arm spinner against southpaw, but Hardik played magnificently. He (Pandya) came out and said he was going to play his shots, and happy he stayed until the end.”
