Will take wins like this any day over usual victories, says Rohit Sharma

Published

India captain Rohit Sharma was pleased after India won an absorbing Asian Cup Group A match against Pakistan in a packed Dubai International Stadium, saying he would take this five-wicket win any day before the usual victories.

In the chase of 148 in a two-rhythm field, India needed 59 runs in the last six overs. From there, Pandya (33 not out of 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (35) shared a 52-run standing on just 29 balls.

On the ball, Pandya gave India vital breakthroughs with his short balls to pick 3/25 in all four of his overs, while senior pacemaker Bhuvneshwar was excellent in the opening and deadly overs to take 4/26 to eliminate Pakistan by 147. With the pacemaker in the left arm. Arshdeep Singh taking the rest of the two wickets, also marked the first instance of Indian closers taking all 10 wickets in a T20I match.

“Halfway through the chase, we still knew we can win regardless of the situation. We had the belief and when you have that belief, these things can happen. It’s about giving guys clarity so they know their roles well. It was a bit challenging, but I’ll take wins like this any day over the usual wins. Yes, they (Indian rhythm bowling) have come a long way in the last year or so and have adapted well to different situations,” Rohit said after the match.

Rohit highly praised Pandya’s all-around skills since he returned to the India scheme in June this year. “From the moment he (Hardik) made his comeback, he’s been brilliant. When he wasn’t part of the team, he thought about what he had to do with his body and his fitness regimen, and now he’s clocking over 140 easily.” “. We all know his hitting quality and he has been brilliant since his return.

“He’s a lot calmer now and he’s more confident in what he wants to do, whether it’s with the bat or the ball. He can throw really fast, we saw him today with those short balls. It was always about understanding his game.” and he is doing fine now. In a high-pressure chase with 10 more runs needed, you can panic, but he never showed any of that.”

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was also amazed by Pandya’s overall skills and admitted that his team fell 10-15 runs short with the bat. “The way we started (on the ball) was great. We were 10-15 runs short. The bowlers did really well to make a match out of this. Our queue was stepped up a little bit to add those useful runs.

“The idea was to deepen the game (and contain Mohammad Nawaz’s last over). The idea was to create pressure, but Hardik finished well. He (Naseem Shah, rookie pacemaker) is a very young bowler, but he played very well and showed a lot of aggression.”

Although KRK defended Urfi and Nia, at the same time, he criticized Sunny saying that it was Sunny who inspired these girls to wear such revealing clothes.
